It didn’t begin overnight, in fact, day to day it was hardly recognizable, but slowly Hannah sensed the pull towards something more than product and design. Then, one afternoon in her brick and mortar shop, an internal heart to heart began:
After more than ten years of operating Hide & Hunter, Hannah recalled the countless conversations of those who came into the shop or stopped by her events and voluntarily shared their stories of hurt, healing, and overcoming the odds. Some of these people were walking testimonies of lives repurposed for more, while others were still searching for hope and direction as they journeyed through their valley of hardship.
Hide & Hunter has always been known for luxury leather goods, however, over the past few years Hannah began carrying a line of repurposed, vintage designs. Through time she noticed that her customers were often drawn to these upcycled pieces because they beautifully embodied their age, patina, and story. It was during a moment in her atelier that she heard the internal voice of God calling her out for more. Like these repurposed bags, we are drawn to those who have stories of restoration; to those who have walked through a life of loss and defeat but emerged triumphant. We're inspired by those who refuse to be labeled by their past hurt, mistakes, or upbringing but instead leverage their experiences for healing, hope, and the support of others going through similar experiences.
And just like that, The Repurposed Podcast was born. In a quiet moment between God and Hannah in her little shop, her own repurposing began. Right then, Hannah’s focus shifted from the selling of repurposed goods to the telling of repurposed lives. If we're being honest, handcrafted bags are beautiful but not a need... but what we all DO need is hope, truth, and the knowledge that we are never too worn out or too used up to be repurposed for more. Soon after, Hannah decided to transition from her historic Morris Ave store back to online in order to focus full-time on the creation of the podcast. Our goal is to provide a platform where we can share the testimonies of those who have gone through the trials of life and emerged anew.
Our podcast is for believers and non-believers alike, for those on their path of purpose and those who are just trying to find their next step. Our prayer is that as you listen to TRP you will realize that you too are destined for more, and that nothing you have done or have experienced can keep you from a life repurposed through an encounter with Christ.
